2018 Wrap Up and What's to Come!

Just like everyone, I’m always in a little shock that the new year is upon us yet again. All the tired old cliche’s run true – it’s goes so fast and all that. When reflecting on the past year, I realized I had a great year on the blog, but I also realized how much more work I could be doing. I’m setting new goals for myself and my blog. I’m planning to redo the bedroom, my office, garage and open an online shop this year. It doesn’t sound like much, but with everything being DIY and me being so slow, I’ll be happy if we accomplish those goals. Before I get started with all that, lets look back on the highlights from this past year with my 2018 wrap up.

I started the year with our kids rec room remodel. This was a huge improvement and we get so much more use out of this room now. Here’s before.

The most popular space with the kids is the loft bed. This was actually a fairly easy DIY and they fight to sleep up there every weekend!

The loft bed is the most popular, but the craft station is a close second and the most used space. It is so nice having everything so organized!

Also, it was great to get the toy closet cleaned out as part of this remodel.

I added a dog door to the wall just outside the rec room and we LOVE it. I don’t think I can go back to no dog door ever again.

Summer was so busy, I didn’t get much done here on the blog or in the home, but I did get to visit Cuba and Key West and wrote a little informational post on our visit.

This fall I finally got around to organizing the kids sports equipment and this has been a huge help! No more basketball rolling around when I’m trying to work in the garage!

When I redid the kids rec room, I didn’t love how the polished concrete floors turned out, so I tried it again in the kids room and LOVE them. Now I just need to redo the rec room floors!

Those were the big home improvement projects, but I also had a couple of other big things happen with the business this year.

I started working with Inventables. I received and put together my 3D carving machine. So far, I’ve been making projects for my friends and practicing, but the goal for this thing and this year is to open an online shop. I’m so excited for this! Read more about it here.

That’s a wrap for 2018! I can’t wait to get started on the new year and see what 2019 brings.
