Best Projects of 2016 & What’s to Come
Hello and Welcome Back! It’s time to reflect on the year and share with you my best projects of 2016 and what I’m hoping to accomplish next year. We had a full year of upgrades on this house, but there is still so much to do. It’s a little overwhelming at times. But, we love this house and room by room, feels a little more like ours as we work our way through.
It’s so fun to sit and look back through your year and see all the fun things that happened. The same is here on the blog. One of my first big projects of the year was turning this old closet into a book nook for the kiddos.
The kiddos love this little nook, and it took care of storing all of our books after I built the bench to house the bigger books and the floating shelves on the side wall to hold all our other kids books.
The next big project I completed was turning this old nook (another nook!) into a bar area in the living room.
This post, in particular, the cheap and easy wood plank wall, went crazy on Pinterest this year. This really was a pretty easy DIY.
After that, I tried to get into recipes for awhile here, but that was a huge flop, so I decided to stick with home decor. My husband’s office needed a major overhaul and that is what I spent a majority of the spring and summer on.
Here is the after, this was a total labor of love and chalk full of DIY projects. Check out all the details here.
This little project was actually another big hit for me, but I give all the credit to the two cuties in the pic. Say hello to George and Stella and their brand new dog bed.
They actually love it, and I love having a hidden place to hide all their toys and things.
Also in the fall, I decorated my porch for the first time with a whimsy and fun Tim Burton-inspired theme.
Then I started in on our hall bathroom remodel.
This project was another labor of love and once again full of DIY projects. See the full reveal post here. I’m still writing up tutorials on the million projects that went into this tiny space.
Another small build I did recently was this bright and colorful toy box for my nieces. I can’t wait for them to see it!
With a little personalized touch :).
And I wrapped up the year with my fun Christmas projects, including this Reindeer door hanger that ended up being a big hit.
Well, that about wraps up my best projects of 2016. What an amazing year! I have way more on tap for this year. To start with, we want to redo the hallway and the courtyard area. I really hope that we can get started on what I have deemed the ugliest kitchen in America. Can’t wait to have you guys join me on this journey!
I truly appreciate all the love and support you guys have thrown my way. Thanks for following along and Happy New Year!
