It gets me every time - I think I'm doing sooo great. Ahead of schedule and progressing at just the right pace. Then BAM! Week 4 hits and all of a sudden everything starts to fall apart...literally. Polished Concrete – How I Got My Slab Ready for Paint
I'm breaking down how I got a polished concrete slab prepped for paint - and the mistakes I made painting the floors. Ugh, carpet. So gross. Escepically the carpet in our den. The previous owners had dogs. We have dogs. Our dogs are house trained, however...they didn't like the last dogs stains....and you get the picture. The carpet had to go. I loved the look of polished concrete floors, and I probably should have stopped this DIY after I polished them because I'm not loving the paint. ... continue reading...
Craft Station (and gift wrap) for the kiddos!
Adding this craft station has been so great, the kids love it and now all their craft and gift wrapping stuff has a home! I'm so excited about this craft station! The kiddos have deemed this the best redo so far. So course, they are a little bias but I am also happy about this space. It is so functional. Before, all the items are all over the place. Markers and papers in random closets and the iPads and phones where plugged into the wall and literally sat on the floor. Forget the gift ... continue reading...

For the One Room Challenge this go around, I've decided to finish the kids rec room and I'm so excited about all the DIY projects in this space! This is the room our kids hang out in with each other, with their friends, etc. I want this space to be modern, fun and functional. To be honest, we have already started on this room. But, the ORC (one room challenge) is just the kick in the booty I need to finish it up. If you want to see the original post (with a link to the plans for this ... continue reading...

If you've been following along for a while, you know that I am in the middle of our den renovation. Part of the problem was lego storage. Isn't that always the way? We are also in the middle of the kitchen renovation, but we had to take a break from that because...whoa, kitchens are expensive. My husband and I always like to sit and reflect on the past year around this time. Twenty-seventeen was a year of ups and downs, my bestie moved away and then my dog of 16 1/2 years left us, but honestly all in all it was a good year. Remove Texture from Ceilings the Easiest Way EVER!!!
Want to remove texture or "popcorn" from your ceilings to create a brighter, more open and modern feel? I have done it quite a few times and I have found, by far, the easiest way to do it. This post is sponsored by Wagner. All opinions are my own. When I redid my husbands office last year, I wanted to remove texture from the ceiling. Popcorn ceilings make rooms look so dated! The original idea was to hide the imperfections of the ceiling, which makes sense. However, all the little bumps ... continue reading...
