We finally got our new couches in and we are starting to, very slowly, feel like we live here. I ordered the couches online, so I was nervous. But we love them! They look nice, are super comfy and got a great price. I wish I could actually build a couch, but I’m not quite there yet, haha.
So, the only thing about the couch is that the throw pillows were a little bland and outdated.
I wanted something a little brighter and more modern. I can’t sew, but a quick google search lead me to this…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WeR5ZtzSQ8. I thought it was funny that the pillow she was covering was almost the exact same pillow I was trying to cover!
I find pillows to be ridiculously over priced. No doubt I would pay at least $20 a piece for them. Instead I took $20 and bought enough fabric and materials to cover 6 of them. If you happen to be one of those cool people with scrap fabric lying around, even better!
The only thing I did different was I started out with the Heat and Bond like she did in the video, but found it didn’t hold the burlap pieces very well. Plus it was a little difficult to get the last little part, after you shove the pillow in, closed up. So, I saw this and tried it and it worked awesome!
I can’t believe how strong it is. And much easier to work with. If I decide to do anymore, I’ll just use this instead.
Super easy, and cheap.
Say hello to George!
Now, I just need to build some occasional tables and paint those walls. And get a bigger rug. The list goes on and on.
Thanks for stopping by!
