Rustic Industrial Living Room Before and After
Hellow and Welcome Back! I recently updated the blog here and UncookieCutter and while I was organized my new menus, I realized I never shared a before and after post of our living room. I shared individual projects, and there were a lot of them, but never really shared the whole thing put together. I’m still dreaming of all the things I may do in here, but for now, here is a roundup of all the rustic industrial living room DIYs.
Here is the yellow and red blank canvas we started with.
The layout of the room is a little tough, so the only real place for the TV is above the fireplace. But that left us with this…
One of my very first projects was building this TV surround to hide all the cords that were loose hanging around the TV.
In the before pic, you can almost see the little nook to the right of the fireplace, which I ripped and built the Home Bar. Behind the sliding door hides our kegerator. Now we have draft beer at home, which not only tastes better but is cheaper too! I still want to put some glasses over here to get ready for the kitchen renovation.
Other projects in this area include my DIY Industrial Wine Rack, Glass Jug Upcycle, Restoration Hardware inspired TableTop Clock and Balancing Wine Bottle Holder.
Moving over around the room, one of my most popular posts to date was this gallery wall with the DIY tree branch paintings that were so easy! Click over and see how I did it – seriously anyone could pull this off.
I also recently completed the dog bed for the pups. How cute are they???
Moving around to the sitting area, the rolling coffee table I made so I could sit on the couch and work and roll the table to me. I also made the tree stump end table from a tree stump I found in the yard and the Stacked Crate End Table was my very first designed piece.
On the ledge way above, I painted and fixed an Antique Bike I found at one of my favorite antique stores and almost killed myself hanging it, but it’s up there now :). Don’t worry – it’s bolted to the wall. I also built the hanging shelves and the little compass rose license plate holder (although I haven’t done a post about that yet)!
In the space behind the couches, when we first looked at the house, they had a huge, ornate dining table here that didn’t fit my style. We decided a pool table would make much more sense and added a few more DIY wall projects to pull together the sitting area and gaming area.
I made the little Rustic Wood Wall art pic and the Industrial Pipe Blanket Holder which has come in so handy!
I also did little up-cycles to our pool rack and dart board. The little circle art is made out of a broken keyhole mirror.
Now that it’s all done, I want to go back and redo a ton of things, but there is way too much to get done in this house, so for now, this is it for our rustic industrial living room.
