Teen Boy Room Ideas
I’m at a standstill with our TV wall and living room makeover, so I’ve started thinking of the next big room redo, Charlie’s room. Now a 13 year old, this teen boy room has to last him until he moves out, which is an idea that I am actively avoiding because it is causing me great anxiety to think about. He wants a modern teen room, something that is slick and sharp and uncluttered. A boy after my own heart! So here are my room ideas for teen boys inspiration from some amazing bloggers.

I haven’t actually STARTED on his room yet, however, I am starting to plan. Here are some things he wants incorporated into his room 1. a Dog bed under his bed. How, and why? Not sure. His dog usually sleeps in the bed with him so not sure but I’ll think on that. 2. Basketball themed. 3. Black and white 4. Some sort of cool light feature and 5. A desk that faces the room. In short, I have to get to work.
So, to start with I always look for inspiration and today I’ve rounded up 10 amazing room ideas for teen boys from some of my favorite bloggers.
Although I’ve talked him out of bunk beds, I am digging this vibe from Bless This Nest. I love the simplicity of the featured wall and the desk nook. I also love how she used this smaller space and packed so much in without it looked cramped or crowded. That little leather chair in the corner is fantastic.
I’m also loving this modern teen room from The 3 Boy Mom, especially those curtains. I’m not usually a big fan of curtains, but these have all my love! I love the subtle basketball touches too. Not to over the top. I think my son would prefer to just turn his room into a full size court. And there is another awesome leather chair. I’m noticing a trend that I love!
This masculine bedroom from Rain on a Tin Roof is also very cool. I loved the two toned walls and the textures from the rug, blanket and pillows combined to add a little touch of warmth to this room. I’m also digging that funky shelf on the wall.
The teenage boy bedroom makeover by Love Grows Wild is also lovely, I’m especially loving the sepia vintage sports prints. I love bringing vintage pieces to a modern vibe. I really love the placements of the mirrors behind the lamps as well.
This room by Thrifty Decor Chick is also amazing. Although it’s not my son’s style, he did request a built in bed with some shelving and I love this. I really like the basketball display as well. It’s a little reminiscent of our daughters bedroom with the shiplap built in bed.
Hi Sugarplum! redid her teen boys room and while the whole room is lovely, I’m especially loving this desk area. I like the simple shelves above and the styling. I’m also almost positive we are going to have to have a plant in there to go along with my current plant obsession.
This room from Southern Revivals has all that I’m loving – the colors, the simple accent on the walls, a leather chair and a plant! Score! I also dig that leather headboard and the rug. I also love that city print, I would’ve never picked that for this room but it really is working for me!
Remington Avenue created a teen room that is super cool, but what really caught my attention here was that diagonal two toned wall. Charlie asked for that exact thing but with black and white. I wasn’t sure how it would look but I like it here so much I think we will attempt it! That suspended bed it too cool as well.
I love the colors – black, white and wood tones – in this teen room from The Merry Thought. I love the design of the geometric wall as well as the rug and bedding in her. And those plants! Woo hoo!
And last but not least is this room from The Spoiled Home. I was drawn in again by the diagonal two toned wall, this time with the black and white my son asked for. It looks great and I love the placement of the artwork.
Now you have an idea of what we like and the overall feel we are going for for this boys modern teen room, but we have some fun unique design ideas we can’t wait to get to work on. Have any cool teen room boy ideas? Sound off below!
